Perry is a drink so difficult to find that most people don't know of its existence. So says the Campaign for Real Ale, which champions the cause of genuine cider and perry as well as proper British beer.

Here in the West, we are no doubt better informed about perry. It is, after all, a local product, widely made in Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. In Camra's Good Cider Guide, 26 perry producers are listed in the four counties.
