Yet again our British farmers are having to beg the buyers and supermarkets to increase the amount of money they get for their milk. No other industry goes on running at a loss, by selling goods more cheaply than it cost to produce, so why should the farmers? They do it because they care about the cows and the countryside. Why shouldn't they have a fair deal? They work hard enough.
If the supermarkets can afford to slash the price of bottles of wine that have travelled hundreds of miles they can put their hands in their wallets and give a decent price for the milk.See the full content of this document
