TRIBUTES have been paid to a "true hero" who died after being injured in a blast in Afghanistan.

Trooper Brett Hall, from Dartmouth, Devon, was serving with the Royal Tank Regiment. The 21-year-old was fatally injured in an explosion while in a Viking vehicle on a patrol in rural north-west Helmand province.
