Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has revealed he nearly gave up running the festival last year after torrential rain blighted the event.

Mr Eavis, 73, said he found battling the conditions in 2007 "like having a baby" as the cost of clearing up after the Somerset extravaganza soared to pounds800,000. But he said got over the pain and plans to be at the helm until he turns 80.
