There are only five years to go until the 2015 deadline to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and Oxfam South West is calling on the UK government to meet the promises made ten years ago to provide the world's poorest people with the kind of basic rights we take for granted here at home.

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, has called world leaders to gather in New York next week to discuss progress in meeting the MDG goals.
