A HERO of the Anglo-Zulu War has finally been honoured with a new gravestone - 125 years after his death and almost 70 years since the original headstone was destroyed.
A special ceremony at Efford Cemetery in Plymouth remembered Sergeant Francis Attwood DCM, a survivor of the battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879, which was immortalised in the film Zulu starring Michael Caine. A corporal at the time, he was one of just 130 soldiers who defended a British garrison and mission station against 4,000 Zulus.See the full content of this document
