WE are always being told that there is a lack of police resources to allow our boys and girls in blue to respond to every complaint of vandalism, public order offences and the like.

But as I watched the Tour of Britain cycle race going through Tiverton there seemed to be more police motorcycle outriders on their expensive BMW motorbikes than there were cyclists.
