Summary
E ven TODAY Lamorna is one of the most unspoilt areas in Cornwall, just along the coast from Newlyn and Mousehole. Like many small valleys elsewhere, there is a small stream running down the middle but unusually this valley is wooded, which has attracted numerous artists over the years, including Sir Alfred Munnings (1878- 1959) who came here in 1908.
Born in Mendham, Suffolk, he worked locally until moving west to join other, like-minded souls in Cornwall who were already enjoying the fame introduced by the Newlyn School.
