Warming Grub to Restore Soul After Battling Elements

Summary

IHAVE slipped almost obliviously into autumn-cum-winter mode. I realised that it had crept up on me when I decided to put on a warm pair of socks, rather than pop sox, before I donned boots to take the dog for a walk. I had managed to find a brief window in the weather when the skies were not throwing it down, although the wind was gale-like. Anyway Max and I bravely faced the elements - well he did anyway, tail stubbornly aloft, and with great determination he took me (and that is true, believe you me) to the park for his daily constitutional. He shot round the park like a rocket, sniffing at all and everything, having a great old time. I plodded around, bemoaning the fact that my knees were playing up and creaking (they always do these days when it rains) and sure enough down it poured yet again. It was wonderful to get back into the house, dry us both off, and reward myself with tea and crumpets by the fire, and then think of some wonderfully warming food for supper for me and the other half.

Chilli Bangers and Beans This is great for the dog walkers - warms the cockles of your heart, it really does!
