IF you didn't catch the first series of Beautiful People, you'll probably be baffled by this second outing, but with its crazy characters and even madder storylines it's well worth backtracking to embrace its escapist delights.

Written by Jonathan Harvey (Gimme Gimme Gimme), it's based on the best-selling memoirs of New York fashionista Simon Doonan. Always colourful and crazy, at times tragi-comic, it delves into Simon's psyche in flashbacks to his 14-year-old self and his desperation to escape suburban Reading in the late 1990s to live among the "beautiful people" in London with his best friend, Kyle, aka Kylie.
