Former Environment Minister Michael Meacher has launched a furious attack on the Department of Health, accusing it of trying to "bury" the official inquiry into Britain's worst water poisoning disaster which he ordered more than five years ago.
Mr Meacher commissioned the investigation in August 2001 into the long term health effects of the acid water poisoning, which hit the Camelford area of North Cornwall in July 1988. The inquiry team held its first meeting in January 2002 but more than five years on its report is still awaited.See the full content of this document
