As an ex-Plympton Grammar School student and having spent most of my informative years in the Plymouth area, I have such fond memories of the beautiful rolling countryside, narrow lanes and fabulous views that make Devon what it is. It therefore incenses me when I read the hypocritical nonsense spoken by Hector Christie of the Friends of Fullerton Windfarm. He talks about caring for the environment and the future of our children. What is it about the pro- windfarm lobby, how is it they appear to be completely innumerate? The simple mathematics of windpower expose it to be a disgraceful scam in terms of reducing global carbon emissions and in supplying electricity. It is widely accepted that even if the UK reached Blair's 2010 target in renewable energy this will reduce global carbon dioxide emissions by less than one thousandth. It is also widely accepted that no matter how many of these industrial windfarms are built not a single conventional power station will close!
Windpower is not an alternative to nuclear power or any other form of generation. The public have been frightened with talk of a climate change. Windfarms are nothing more than the highly subsidised destruction of our countryside.See the full content of this document
