A woman was last night recovering in hospital after being trodden on by her horse after a riding accident.

The accident took place near farmland at Chagford, Mid Devon, just after 1pm yesterday. The woman is believed to have fallen from her horse into a rocky stream. While lying in the water, her horse trod on her chest, causing her to become breathless.
