Summary
Blitzen trotted on through the forest, pausing briefly to graze on a little snow from the bank. Then he picked up speed for a few paces to catch up with his leader whose proud antlers were disappearing over the crisp white horizon. As the reindeer ran, his neat little heels dug up freshly laid icy flakes and flurries flew backwards into my sleigh, dusting across my face and temporarily blurring my view of the fairytale landscape. There was nothing but snow and fir trees, fir trees and snow, like something out of Narnia.
Tucked up beneath woolly blankets and cocooned in thermal snowsuit, boots and mittens, I imagined Aslan the lion waiting and watching in the shadows.
