A top civic sailor has suffered a dent to his professional pride after his yacht ran aground.

Torbay councillor Robert Horne, a former Merchant Navy navigation officer, master mariner, Trinity House pilot ticket holder and chairman of the Bay Harbour Authority, was embarrassed to find his 33ft yacht Elan grounded in Paignton harbour as he misjudged the tide.
