Summary
Two youths were arrested by police after provoking a full-scale armed response. Officers were called to Torre Abbey Meadows in Torquay at 5.30pm on Saturday after receiving reports of a man loading a gun. The report was confirmed by other witnesses and armed police, accompanied by the dog unit and local police officers, cordoned off the scene. Two youths were seen to make off on foot and were arrested. The youths, who are from the Torquay area, were found to be in possession of a BB gun and a controlled substance and are being questioned by police.
